Let’s skip the foreplay and get straight to it:

Donald J. Trump conned the American people.

Again.

He rode in on the same horse, waving the same flags, yelling the same slogans—and a whole lot of y’all lined up to believe it like it was 2016 all over again. Except this time, the playbook wasn’t even updated. Just dusted off, reprinted, and sold to desperate folks for the low price of their last shred of political hope.

And now?

We’re halfway through 2025, and guess what? Most of what he promised still ain’t happening. But the speeches? Oh, they’re louder than ever. The bravado? Still off the charts. The results? Well… let’s break that down.

Why People Voted for Trump in 2024 (Again)

Look, I understand why some of y’all did it. Really. I do. Biden did nothing. You’re sick of the economy bleeding you dry, the border looking like a revolving door, and the D.C. elite acting like they’ve never worked a day in their life.

Here’s what sold the ticket:

The Economy: Prices are stupid high. Gas. Groceries. Rent. Trump promised to fix it all. Said he’d bring inflation to its knees and make America rich again.

Immigration: Border security was his bread and butter. “Mass deportations” and “shut it all down” were crowd favorites. People wanted action, not excuses.

Anti-Establishment Rage: A big chunk of the country wanted someone to punch the system in the throat. Trump still had that wrecking-ball appeal for folks who are tired of polished lies.

Tax Cuts, No Tax on Tips: He promised to let service workers keep their tips tax-free. That alone bought him a lot of loyalty.

America First, Again: More tariffs, fewer global entanglements, energy dominance, and tough-guy trade policies. All red meat to his base.

What He’s Actually Done (So Far)

Let’s talk receipts.

Promises Kept:

Pardoned January 6 Rioters: Boom. First thing out the gate. Over 1,500 people walked because he said so.

Tariffs: Rolled out new tariffs on imports from the EU and Mexico. Promised they’d fix everything from manufacturing to inflation. Jury’s still out.

DEI Programs Gutted: Federal-level Diversity, Equity & Inclusion programs? Axed. Like it or not, he followed through.

Border Crackdown: Border arrests are up. Deportations are ramping. People are rioting. Good times.

In Progress:

No Tax on Tips: Still just a promise. Congress hasn’t touched it.

Lower Credit Card Interest Rates: Mentioned. Tweeted. Not real yet.

Drain the Swamp 2.0: Said he’d clean house. So far, not much has changed but the name tags.

End the Ukraine War in 24 Hours: That clock ran out months ago. War’s still going.

Save TikTok: Apparently a major priority. Why? Who the hell knows.

Straight Up Failures:

Grocery Prices: Still ridiculous. If anything, they’re worse. And he admitted it’s “hard to fix.” Then why promise it?

Prescription Drugs: Prices are up, because he rolled back the caps from his first term.

Epstein Files: Promised to release more. Hasn’t. Silence is deafening.

“Kill the EV Mandate”: There never was one. Nothing to kill. Just a fake monster to slay on the campaign trail.

Opioid Crisis: Said he’d fix it day one. It’s worse than ever.

Green New Deal / Sanctuary Cities: Still around. No real policy action. Just hot air.

So I Gotta Ask: How’s That Working Out For You?

To the folks who voted for him this time:

Are you richer?

Is gas cheaper?

Are your groceries affordable?

Are the wars over?

Is the swamp drained?

Is the system any less rigged?

Or did you just get conned by a guy who painted the same lemon gold and told you it was a Mustang?

Be honest.

Because here’s the part where I’m done being polite:
Everyone who told me I was wrong for not voting for him this time can go f**k themselves.

I was right.
I saw the scam coming.
I called it.
And I ain’t sorry.

Final Thoughts (For Anyone Still Clinging to Hope)

Look, if Trump’s your guy, I’m not here to change your religion. I’m just here to say this:

A real leader gets results.
Not just ratings.
Not just rallies.
Not just headlines.

You can’t executive-order your way out of every problem. And you can’t run a country like it’s a reality show—because real people live here. We’re hurting. We’re broke. We’re exhausted. And all we’re getting is more circus.

So no, I didn’t vote for him this time.

And watching this slow-motion trainwreck unfold, I sleep damn well knowing I trusted my gut instead of falling for another round of red-hat fairy tales.
